General PPWR Statement – Deco Sign & Code BV

Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR)

General Statement on Packaging and Packaging Waste
Version: 1.1
Date: 10th of august 2026

1. Purpose and Principles

Deco Sign & Code BV supports the European objectives of preventing and reducing packaging waste, promoting recycling and reuse, and improving the sustainability and circularity of packaging.

We monitor developments relating to the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) and aim to align our products, packaging materials and business processes with the legal requirements applicable to our activities.

Where relevant, we work together with our suppliers and other supply chain partners to obtain information regarding the composition, origin and regulatory status of the packaging materials used.

2. Scope

This statement applies to packaging and packaging materials that are used, purchased, processed, supplied and/or placed on the market by Deco Sign & Code BV, insofar as these fall within the scope of the PPWR.

Depending on the application, this may include, among other things:

  • cardboard boxes and cardboard packaging;

  • paper packaging and paper materials;

  • films and plastic packaging;

  • bags and carrier bags;

  • tapes, labels and other packaging-related materials;

  • protective and cushioning materials;

  • transport and logistics packaging;

  • other primary, secondary and tertiary packaging.

The specific obligations are assessed for each product and application based on the applicable legal requirements and the role of Deco Sign & Code BV within the relevant supply chain.

3. Packaging Assessment

Deco Sign & Code BV aims to select and use packaging in a manner that meets the relevant legal requirements.

Where applicable, the assessment takes into account, among other things:

  • the packaging materials used and their composition;

  • the presence of regulated substances;

  • applicable requirements concerning heavy metals and other substances subject to legal restrictions;

  • the recyclability and suitability of packaging materials for the intended waste streams;

  • the reduction of unnecessary packaging materials;

  • the use of recycled materials where technically, legally and practically feasible.

For the assessment of relevant product and material information, we use available specifications, declarations and information provided by our suppliers and manufacturers. Where necessary or available, additional testing or conformity documentation may also be considered.

4. Suppliers and Supply Chain Information

As an important part of the required information regarding packaging materials originates within the supply chain, we maintain contact with suppliers and manufacturers where appropriate.

We expect our relevant suppliers to provide the information necessary to assess and demonstrate compliance with applicable legal requirements.

Such information may include, among other things:

  • material type and composition;

  • recycled material content;

  • presence of regulated substances;

  • recyclability;

  • product specifications;

  • relevant legal declarations and certificates;

  • other information required for the assessment of the packaging.

5. Relevant Legislation

In addition to the PPWR, we take into account other relevant European and national legislation insofar as it applies to our activities and products.

This may include, among other things:

  • REACH – Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006;

  • CLP – Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008;

  • applicable European and national legislation relating to packaging and packaging waste;

  • relevant environmental and product legislation;

  • other legal requirements applicable to specific materials, products or applications.

6. Documentation and Evidence

Deco Sign & Code BV maintains relevant information and documentation relating to packaging and packaging materials insofar as this is necessary to assess the applicable legal requirements.

Depending on the product, application and our role within the relevant supply chain, such documentation may include supplier declarations, product specifications, technical information, certificates or test results.

Where additional documentation is required for a specific product, this will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

7. Nature of this Statement

This document is intended as a general company statement describing how Deco Sign & Code BV approaches the legal requirements relating to packaging and packaging waste.

This statement does not constitute a product-specific EU Declaration of Conformity (DoC) and should not be interpreted as a general guarantee that every individual product or package complies with every provision of the PPWR under all circumstances.

The applicable requirements may vary depending on the type of packaging, the materials used, the intended application, the country in which the product is placed on the market and the role of Deco Sign & Code BV within the relevant supply chain.

Where relevant and available, additional documentation may be provided for specific products or packaging materials.

8. Ongoing Monitoring and Development

Deco Sign & Code BV monitors the ongoing development and implementation of European legislation relating to packaging and packaging waste.

As new legal requirements become applicable, we will update our processes, supplier information, documentation and product assessments where necessary.

We follow a practical and transparent approach, with cooperation between our suppliers and other relevant supply chain partners forming an important part of this process.
